Meet Nurse Napolitano

RN Charlene Napolitano is a Louisiana registered nurse specializing in routine and high-risk obstetrics. She obtained her nursing degree in 1977 at Regents College in New York and currently works at Tulane Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children in Metairie. She has over 40 years of experience working in Labor and Delivery and is proud to have delivered approximately 15,000 babies! She has worked as a staff nurse, a charge nurse, a clinical supervisor, a surgical first assistant, an OB Scrub Tech, and House Supervisor of Tulane Lakeside Hospital.
Charlene is well versed on the care of the OB patient, providing support for the mother during labor, and ensuring the safe delivery of the infant. Charlene is also qualified to transition the newborn infant after delivery for the first few hours of life having the expertise to ascertain any signs that the infant may be having a problem. She routinely provides inservice on OB emergencies such as prolapsed cord, shoulder dystocia, abruptio placenta, ruptured uterus, and emergency breech delivery.
